1. 1 cup butter
2. 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
3. 2 quarts milk
4. 1 cup half-and-half
5. salt and ground black pepper to taste
6. 1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke flavoring

1.heat butter in a pan . add flour and blend, as a minimum 2 mins. slowly pour milk,blending continuously till mixture is clean, for 5 mins.
2. stir 1/2-and-1/2 into the pan; season with salt and pepper. add liquid smoke. cook and stir till gravy is clean and barely thickened, 2 to three minutes extra.
